It was the ship of dreams to everyone else. To me, it was a slave ship, taking me back to America in chains. Outwardly, I was everything a well brought up girl should be. Inside, I was screaming. -Rose
So, why did Rose board the Titanic?
What she longed for more than anything was freedom and adventure.
She could have walked away at that moment and found it around it down the street.
But she didn't.
Because she would have done anything to get her freedom except the one thing she absolutely HAD to do to get it.
She had to give up her identity of "everything a well brought up girl should be." She had to give up the engagement to the asshole millionaire. She had to give up EVERYTHING ELSE to get what she wanted most.
Which is part of why Titanic was such a blockbuster.
The most important thing you need to understand is that heroes are ill-equipt to get what the want. Because PEOPLE are ill-equipt to create their own transformation.
They MUST be called to action. They must be guided through it. They must be taken to the stern of the ship and told it's time to spread their wings.
It's the only way they will ever do the things it takes to get their transformation.
So, if you aren't calling your heros' to action, you aren't just holding back your business, you're holding back on what they NEED from you most at that moment. You can't support them on their journey to get what they want if you can't call them to take the first step.
If you're struggling to make calls to action, this is the mindset shift you need to make:
When you call your audience to action you aren't doing it for YOU. You are doing it for THEM.
The want and need you to challenge them. To take a stand for what they want when they are ill-equipt to do it themselves.
And the best part is that when it is done from a place of service, it's never icky, manipulative, or salesy.
Don't phone-it-in. Don't apologize for taking a stand for their desires. If you're STILL struggling to call them to action, PM me so that we can create copy that calls them to their transformation. at Clearwater, Florida
