1. Lie down on a flat bench with your back and your feet on the floor. Using a medium width grip (grip that creates a 90-degrees angle between your upper arms and forearms) lift the bar from the rack with straight arms and hold it with your arms locked at the top. This will be your starting position. 2. As you breathe in, lower down the bar slowly from the starting position until it touches your mid chest. 3. After a pause of one count push the bar back up to the starting position as you breathe out until you’ve locked your elbows. 4. Focus on pushing the bar using your chest muscles. Lock your arms and squeeze your chest in the contracted position at the top of the motion, hold this position for a second and then start lowering down slowly again. 5. Repeat this movement for desired amount of repetitions. 6. When you are done with the exercise, place the bar back in the rack. Muscles Targeted : 1. Pectoralis 2. Deltoids 3. For me going to the gym is much more than the physical aspect. It’s meditation, it’s pushing boundries, it’s zoning out from this crazy world, it’s healing, it’s empowering AND it keeps my inner-anger under controle haha. It releases so much. Let me tell you something, folks. 👇🏼 • If someone/ a company advertises that they can help you lose X amount of weight in X amount of time without ever meeting you or knowing anything about you, run! • • Here’s ONE Example: Nutrisystem advertises that you will lose 13 pounds and 7inches in the first 30 days. 7 inches 😦 can you imagine a person who has an eating disorder, weighs 125pounds and is 5’6” buying this plan because they are told that they could lose 7 inches in a month...? • • These types of claims should raise multiple red flags: 1. We all respond differently to diets. 2. Some people weigh 95lbs and some people weigh 450lbs so who is to say how much someone will lose in a month without knowing anything about them? 3. The majority of this weight will most likely be water weight and then the person(s) will plateau. • • I believe that weight loss should be individualized and plans should be written to each persons specific needs. I do know that once you sign up with them, you create an account and they make recommendations for you however, making broad claims about a certain amount you COULD lose is a bad idea. What are your opinions on this topic?
