Even as a trainer we have goals and constantly strive to be better. Learning a new way of squatting have completely transformed how I execute this movement. Front loading a squat prevents your chest from caving forward and forces your erectors to work in the movement. Breaking at the hips and knees at the same time keeping your weight centered has also helps to light up the anterior tibialis (that little shin muscle). . With these new switches, I am squatting lower than I ever have. Just the bar used to be so hard for me to do on this particular squat variation but now am up to 14 added pounds. It doesn’t seem like much, but it’s about the quality of the movement and not so much load. If you want to really tense the muscles, increase the time under the load and do a 5 second count down. By doing this you are actually increasing your foundational strength! . Keep pressing towards those goals getting a little better every week peeps. First time in a long ass time I’ve been with a barbell in the evening πŸ™Š . I decided to do my whole hamstring/glute workout with just a barbell, this would be handy for anyone who has limited time, in a gym with limited equipment (as a barbell is a common piece of equipment) or training at peak times when the gym is busyπŸ₯΅ . As I’m going back to basics and dramatically reducing weight to give my body time, I’m working on form as I’ve noticed it’s gone dramatically down hill and my joints are still slightly lose, especially my knees πŸ˜– . Find my workout below ⬇️ . β€’ 4 x 20 leg press toes pointing outward to his the hamstrings β€’ 4 x 12 good morning - narrow stance to really hit the glutes πŸ‘ β€’ 4 x 15 hip thrusts keeping the weight in the heels πŸ‘  β€’ 4 x 12 sumo deadlifts toes pointing outward β€’ 4 x 10 each leg elevated lunge to really hit the hamstrings/glutes . Putting myself on a liquid diet. I’ve made such poor food choices over the weekend I’ve made myself sick. I didn’t think one could have dumping affects after 1 1/2 post op. I realized.. It’s one or two things. It’s either we don’t really want it, or we just don’t have the motivation. 9 times out of 10 we are lacking that motivation. Take a good look at yourself in the mirror. That person you see everyday, is YOU. And that person is enough. They are there to motivate and push you. We must remember to always have gratitude, to set goals, be humble, and work hard. Mindset is so important. Give your honest 100% effort and you will see start to see progress. If we ignore this, we will only continue making excuses. We are all guilty of making excuses. I told myself that this year I really want to do what I say I’m going to do.
