Some time ago I met Joaquin, a true fan and expert of Polaroid, especially for the legendary and iconic SX70 camera. Quickly we started to talk and he told me about his incredible project, @opensx70 , focused to design a brand new electronic circuits in order to have manual control of the camera and increase the creative possibilities of photographers. Waaw, sounds really cool I said !! With a lot of hours of design and electronic engineering, hardware and software tests, and many exposed film cartridges, these are the incredible features offered by the prototypes that are currently being developed: • Manual shutter speed control, around 1/1750. • Double exposures & multiple exposures. • Mode B. • Mode T. • PC flash connector. • Flash operation f.8 (maximum aperture). • Delayed operation of the optional mirror (to avoid vibrations). • Built-in shutter delay (press and hold the red button). • Optional built-in light meter.
Currently Joaquin is still working hard to improve the latest prototypes, which are giving spectacular results. Please visit his IG profile and website, link in my bio, where you will find detailed information, a cool photo gallery, tutorials and updates of this interesting project. All pictures shown here are courtesy of Joaquin. Without any doubt Joaquin has impressed me by his human quality, professionalism and his love for photography! Sometimes, two seemingly different projects, such as opensx70 and Analogueworks, may have points in common ... stay tuned :) #analogueworks #polaroid #sx70 #opensx70 #polaroidoriginals
