HEALTH AND FITNESS IN YOUR 30's When you were in your 20's, you could shotgun chocolate, crisps, eight pints a chinese takeaway, and not raise an eyebrow over it, you knew you'd burn it off at the gym or a football match/training the next day. Sadly, this is the decade when all that changes. You're in your 30's, things just don't work like that anymore. 🙈 Working long hours in stressful environments, grabbing lunch at your desk, binge-watching Netflix and you'll quickly find your weight’s up and your stamina’s down. The ‘box-set belly’ seemingly came out of nowhere. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Thrashing your son in a pretend fight (he has to learn the sting of failure, right?), nailing a charity 5k without vommiting at the finish line, and even keeping your end of the bargain up in the bedroom all can prove difficult tasks in your 30's. Not forgetting the wear and tear on your bits. No, not those bits. You’re in your 30s man – go have a cold shower and a stern word with yourself. 🤣 I mean wearing out your joints, limbs and feet. In your 30s, your bone density begins to decline leaving you more prone to fractures; your muscle tissue reduces; joint connective tissue shortens, hitting your natural flexibility - I'm guilty 🙋🏻‍♂️ Most types of aerobic exercise, including cycling, running or football, don’t force your body to go through the full range of motion like regular weight resistance exercise can, which will also help strengthen bones density – in other words, use it or lose it. The best way to avoid much of the risks above is to take positive, preventative action now. Just like you might plan a work project, a holiday or a stag night, you need to do the same for your health. It's really that simple.

Wrap up, It’s a cold one ❄️ . I spoke earlier about how everyone is looking externally for answers and hoping for a hero to come along and give them all the answers to a better life . Well the answers are internal you become your own hero each and everyday when you stop waiting for “Superman” and begin to hold yourself accountable for your day to day life. Routine is key ! Keeping a diary is also a game changer for multiple reasons. Here is one of them 👇🏼 . When you detach yourself from an unhelpful thought and put it onto paper and see it for how potentially ridiculous it is. For example “I don’t want to go the gym, I’m too fat”. Perhaps you are fat. Is skipping the gym going to make you less fat ? Probably not. If you pluck that thought from inside, write that thought onto paper and ask yourself is this something I would say to a loved one or a friend ? No ? So why is it acceptable to say it to yourself 🤷🏻‍♂️ . If this voice in your head is holding you back you need to fight it Now!. Go toe to toe with it, challenge it each and everyday until you silence it. If you dont and allow it to live there well your in for one hell of a miserable journey. Believe me I know. Less than 10 minute dinner?! Yes, I’m serious. I marinated organic chicken strips in coconut aminos, smashed clementines, ginger, and garlic and let it sit in the fridge overnight.
