Do you ever stop and look in the mirror and immediately notice something you don’t like about your appearance? We can be so critical of ourselves yet we rarely appreciate what our bodies do for us. We are so much more than our physical bodies yet without the body your soul is living in, you wouldn’t be able to experience life the way you do. Today I challenge you to see the legs that have let you walk 👣and travel the world See the eyes that have allowed you to witness the most colorful, beautiful sunrises🌅 . See the stomach that holds so many important organs that keep you functioning. Rather than seeing the physical appearance or things you may not like, go deeper. Think about what your body CAN do and how it is helping you live this life to the fullest. I always tell people to workout not because they hate the way they look and want to change their appearance, but because they love the body they have been blessed with and want to celebrate it by pushing it to do things you never imagined it could be capable of. Shift your perspective and look for the good. It’s there, you just have to stop letting the devil cloud your brain with negativity. As for the deets on this meal: 1.Cook bell peppers in olive oil, paprika, chili powder, cumin, chopped onion 2.Mix in beans of choice after peppers are cooked down (I had kidney beans) 3.Mix in quinoa (I used a precooked, Mexican style quinoa from @target) 4.Serve on soft tortillas with guacamole & salsa

The first picture is the me that everyone knows. The second picture is the battle I’m fighting every single day that not many people get to see. After 2 years of being in what I thought was “remission”, I am currently battling a flare-up of my Crohn’s Disease. To say I’m heartbroken wouldn’t do this feeling justice, but to say I’m defeated wouldn’t be true. Over the past few days, it’s definitely felt as if all I wanted to do was give up, but I know that’s not who I am. • • • I don’t understand why this is happening and I probably never will. When everyone tells me “I just don’t get it, this isn’t fair, you do everything right,” I wish I could come up with some explanation. But, I can’t. Because this cruel illness has a mind of its own. Even when it’s dormant, it’s still there. You never know why you get it in the first place, let alone why it rears it’s ugly head after 2 damn years of doing everything right. Taking my diet into my own hands and finding other holistic approaches to my wellness has helped more than I ever thought possible. I mean, I was flare-free for a LONG time. And I have to give myself some credit for that. Right now, diet AND some medication are going to be needed to help me fight this thing. • • • This is all very raw, so I’m still not able properly formulate my thoughts about it. When I’m ready, I’ll share everything in a blog post. As for now, I just want to say thank you to every single person who has reached out with concern and well wishes. It means more than I can explain, because no one can do this alone, and as isolating and painful as this chronic illness may be, deep-down, I know that I won’t be fighting this battle by myself 💚

Snow day for work means one thing... MIDDAY WORKOUT! This has been an amazing day. Slept until 9 am, got in a 2 mile run followed by a kickass #bagsxcore with @boxerstrong_, breakfast and lunch homemade on plates NOT in Tupperware, and getting shit done from the comfort of my couch in sweatpants. The old me would be getting wasted and eating crap, but I like this version ever. I had a rough 24 hours with only 4 hours of sleep and like 18 hours of work. When I got home this afternoon I wanted nothing else than to smash some weights around the gym, especially since I didn’t work out yesterday because of work. So even though I was effing tired, I got my PWR session in, burned over 400 calories and felt SO MUCH BETTER. Sometimes lifting really is therapy, so thank you @kelseywells. Quick and easy cookies for the kids (and anyone like me who has a major sweet tooth) 🍪 These took no time at all and will keep the kids going over the rest of half term. I’ve got some bananas going past their best soon and wanted to make something a bit healthier for snacks. Only 115 calories per cookie so what’s not to love. I used - 1 banana 🍌 50g dark chocolate chips 🍫 100g oats 2 tbsp honey (can use maple) 1 tbsp coconut oil I will be trying these again using raisins and for myself adding some protein. First day off for half term and loving it spending time with my girls. All die Jahre, in denen ich mehr Tiefen als Höhen erlebt und mich verloren gefühlt habe, hoffnungslos, verzweifelt, negativ mir und dem Leben gegenüber, an Dingen, Erfahrungen, Glaubenssätzen und Menschen festgehalten habe, die mich aufgehalten haben...all das hat weh getan, sich endlos angefühlt..aber mich zu dem gemacht, was ich jetzt bin und was ich gerade fühle. All das hat mich gelehrt, dass noch so viel mehr in mir steckt, so viel mehr losgelassen und angenommen werden muss. All das hat mir gezeigt was man nicht gut tut und mich zu dem geführt, was mich glücklich macht. Manchmal muss man gar nicht wissen wohin einem die Reise führt. Manchmal reicht es zu wissen, wovon es weg führt. Und glaubt mir: es lohnt sich den steinigen Weg zu gehen und so viel dabei zu lernen. Es gehört dazu. Und mit der Zeit wächst man und die Steine erscheinen gar nicht mehr so groß...keep going! you got this! . (ITA⬇️) Let’s talk about FOOD. —————— Many of you asked me about my food routine. I think I’m pretty American and not so Italian about food, I don’t like and I don’t have time to cook. . I NEVER skip breakfast, actually not any meal..I could die!! Ahah For BREAKFAST I usually have coffee and milk with brown cereal or brown bread with jelly and some cookies. For LUNCH I have half chicken with a snack or a big mixed salad. For DINNER I usually have a protein shake (because I usually train in late afternoon/evening) and right after I eat pizza, a sandwich or literally what I find in the house!🙈 SNACKS: I try to eat fruits every day. A banana, an apple, an orange or what the season gives to me. I also eat greek yogurt, cookies, bars, rice cake with chocolate. . ➡️ If there is something I wanna eat (like gelato as always 😂), I don’t stress myself and I just eat it!! My metabolism is very high now so I burn a lot of calories, that’s why I don’t put up weight. ⬅️ . ‼️TIPS: - I take 2 cups of tea (usually draining herbal tea) every day, morning and night. - I take 1 protein shake right after every workout!
